On Thursday 20 February 2025, we were joined by a wonderful panel of experts to discuss Safeguarding: Bruising in Non-Mobile Infants – Accidental, Medical or Non-Accidental?
We heard from a panel of experts in the field who discussed safeguarding policy for the management of bruising, clinical considerations, the management of bruising in health visiting practice, and the supportive nature of supervision.
Our expert panel of speakers included:
- Dr Jamie Carter, Consultant Paediatrician, Designated Doctor for Safeguarding Children, and Designated Paediatrician for Child Deaths in Sussex.
- Michele Lawrence, Head of Safeguarding and Workforce Development, Chief Public Health Nurse Office, Office for Health Improvement and Disparities.
- Dr Michelle Moseley, Previously Lead Nurse for Safeguarding Children in Wales, and health visitor researcher (safeguarding supervision). Currently Head of RCN Prince of Wales Nursing Cadet Scheme.
