The Institute of Health Visiting provides accreditation for education and training products relevant to health visitors and health professionals working with children, families, and communities to improve health outcomes. Applications are accepted from a range of organisations.
iHV accreditation provides a robust external review process, product recognition and confirmation that it provides high quality learning opportunities for practitioners. Accreditation can be used by participants as confirmation of CPD hours undertaken for revalidation with professional regulatory bodies (NMC, GMC).
NB: Accreditation assures the quality of the product (as assessed through the information supplied to us within the application). It is the event or programme accredited – not the organisation seeking accreditation nor the participants in receipt of any iHV-accredited programme.
The iHV charges a fee for accreditation, the fee covers the costs to the iHV associated with the accreditation process which includes administration and peer review fees. Costs vary depending on what is being endorsed and the size/ complexity of the product/ resource. We also charge an additional fee for all products with commercial value – these are negotiated on a case-by-case basis and in discussion/agreement with the iHV CEO or Directors.
Timescales for completion of the process will be outlined once suitability of the product/resource and costs have been agreed. Please allow a maximum of 12 weeks for completion of this process. If you are part of the iHV accreditation panel – you can request for a submission of further evidence to support the application.
